Located in Bidwell Mansion State Historic Park Visitor Center, the General's Store is filled with interpretive and educational items of the era of John and Annie Bidwell. You will find souvenirs such as caps, T-shirts, patches, postcards, and specialty items including gold panning kits, and beautiful reprints of John Bidwell's cannery labels—Sliced Peaches, Yellow Free Peaches, and Cherries—in three sizes, ready for framing.
For special occasions such as birthdays or holidays, we have fun seasonal items, unique natural handmade soaps, and original earrings handcrafted and designed by local artist "Patti."
We carry several books, including many titles from local authors such as John Bidwell and California, John Bidwell: The Adventurous Life of a California Pioneer (for young adults), Annie Kennedy Bidwell: An Intimate History, and more. You will also find books for children, interpretive historical toys, finger puppets, ball-and-cup toss, jacks, and marbles. We also have fun arts and crafts materials such as shuttle tatting, and quilting and knitting sets.
